STARKVILLE – It looked scary at first, but Mississippi State football ended its seven-game losing streak on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (2-7, 0-5 SEC) defeated UMass (2-7) 45-20 after falling behind 10-0 in the first quarter at Davis Wade Stadium. MSU scored 35 straight points starting in the second quarter, pulling away from the Minutemen and scoring five rushing touchdowns in the game.

It's first-year coach Jeff Lebby's first win against an FBS opponent.
