Tim Walz eschewed his usual “regular guy” image while socializing with the son of billionaire Democratic donor George Soros in his swanky New York apartment.

Alex Soros, the 38-year-old son of the global philanthropist, took the reins of his father's $25 billion empire in 2023 – and promised to continue funding left-wing causes.

Walz, who may be the least wealthy person ever to run for vice president, has already spent time with Soros and his wife, former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin, twice in the past month.

Soros, who has hung out with Kamala Harris in the past, could barely contain his excitement, writing in a social media post: “Such an honor to host Vice Presidential candidate @timwalz at my home in New York City.”

In August, Soros declared himself “Walzified! Walzpilled!” after meeting with Walz and Abedin – the ex-wife of disgraced Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner – at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

It is not yet clear how much Soros gave to the Harris-Waltz campaign, although his donations to the 2020 Biden-Harris campaign totaled over $700,000, while he gave at least $5 million in total to Democrats.

At a young age, Alexander was known as a rich kid from the Hamptons who threw lavish parties, picked up models and befriended NBA legends.

His extravagant lifestyle and unbridled antics earned him a reputation as a “playboy” – and even led to him being called an “embarrassment” within his famous family. This contrasted sharply with his father's passionate respect for privacy and his long-standing image as a serious and respected philanthropist and businessman.

So it came as a surprise to some when he was named successor and heir to his father's $25 billion empire.

His rise to the top of George's Open Society Foundations (OSF) was seen as a surprising decision, particularly because it saw him oust his older – and far more serious – brother Jonathan in a corporate dispute that many compared to the HBO series Succession.

But before the June 2023 announcement, Alex had slowly worked to transform his image from playboy to political power broker – trading parties with celebrities for powwows with influential people like Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden.

His political connections now appear to have led him to another major milestone: a romance with Hillary Clinton's longtime assistant and friend Huma Abedin, with whom he publicly announced their relationship in Instagram Stories on Valentine's Day 2023, when the two spent a night together in Paris.

The couple got engaged in July of this year and Soros wrote: “This is what happened… we couldn't be happier, more grateful or more in love.”

Soros told the Wall Street Journal last year that he would expand on his father's woke goals but focus on other issues, such as voting rights, abortion rights and gender equality.

“I'm more political,” says Alex, in comparison to his father. He has visited the White House several times and met with well-known Democrats.

Speaking about his goals, Alex said he was concerned about the possibility of Republican Donald Trump returning to the White House – suggesting the family will make a major contribution to the Democrats in the 2024 presidential election.

“As much as I would like to ban money from politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we will have to do it too,” he said.

Soros' nonprofit Open Society Foundation already distributes about $1.5 billion a year to groups that promote human rights and democracy building around the world, and also funds various universities.

And the family's super PAC, Democracy PAC, supported the campaigns of woke district attorneys and other law enforcement officials who worked to lower incarceration rates and reduce perceived racial bias in the justice system.

Alex has said that he doesn't support every left-wing cause. Unlike many other leftists, he believes that free speech is too restricted on campus.

“I have some differences with my generation on freedom of speech and other things,” he said.

Alex also frequently posts photos of himself with Democratic politicians, including Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama and Senator Chuck Schumer, whom he called a “good friend.”

He has also been recorded in White House transcripts at least a dozen times since 2021.

Alex urged Democrats to refine their message to increase the party's appeal: “Our side needs to make more of an effort to be more patriotic and inclusive.”

“Just because someone votes for Trump doesn’t mean they’re lost or a racist.”

Commenting on Alex's appointment, George said: “He deserves it.”

George made his billions as a hedge fund tycoon in the UK. His Open Society Foundation and related nonprofits have donated more than $42 billion worldwide.

Soros has also given millions of dollars to liberal prosecutors, either in direct donations or through political action committees, effectively buying elections and leading to the installation of at least 75 prosecutors who support his left-wing agenda.

He spent at least $40 million on the project, wrote Matt Palumbo, author of The Man Behind the Curtain: Inside the Secret Network of George Soros, in the New York Post – a tiny sum for a man who is worth at least $32 billion.

The billionaire's prosecutors have eliminated bail laws and waived prosecutions for crimes such as theft and reckless driving, giving criminals virtually free rein and leading to a breakdown of law and order across the United States.

As a direct result, crime has skyrocketed in the major cities overseen by Soros' prosecutors. In 2021, Chicago, under Kim Foxx's rule, recorded its highest murder rate since 1994. And in Philadelphia, drug use and violent crime have increased sharply since Larry Krasner took office.

Trump repeatedly accused George of funding Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and implied that George was responsible for the case involving the $130,000 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels. Trump was eventually found guilty on all 34 counts.

George donated $1 million in 2021 to the left-leaning political action committee Color of Change, which supported Bragg.

His son's meeting with Walz, the governor of Minnesota and vice presidential candidate, is seen as something of a contrast, as the campaign team and Walz himself have tried to portray him as a “regular guy” who tinkers with cars and loves football.

At 60, Walz is approaching retirement age. Yet he may be the least wealthy vice presidential candidate in modern history – despite having had numerous opportunities to increase his wealth.

The bulk of Walz's accumulated wealth consists almost entirely of state, military and federal government pension entitlements, supplemented by taxpayer contributions.

And while a lack of money is certainly no obstacle to high office, some critics are now openly wondering whether Walz, a former teacher and football coach, is the right man to be just a stone's throw away from the Oval Office.
