New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau addressed the media on Monday, just hours after news that head coach Dennis Allen would be fired and special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi would take over as interim head coach. Moreau spoke about Rizzi's promotion as well as the Saints' current record and situation during his media appearance, and had strong feelings about the situation as a whole.

Regarding the record and team performance, he said: “We are 2-7, and our head coach was fired today, and I can say that in general every individual has a stake in our record and performance.”

He then added two more quotes about Rizzi and the city of New Orleans, saying, “For those of you who know Darren Rizzi, he is an incredible leader of men.”

“This city deserves winners. These are (redacted) tough people.”

He also talked about the last week of training and considered it one of their best weeks of training. He said energy, commitment and leadership qualities were all high.

Finally, he was asked who had contacted the team so far on Monday, to which he replied Darren Rizzi. When asked further if they had heard anything from the front office/owner, he replied, “No.”

Ultimately, Moreau was realistic in his answers and seemed fed up to some degree, but was also optimistic about Rizzi's promotion to interim head coach and the team's future. Ultimately, that's a good sign because it's definitely positive when the players get behind a new coach.
