Gemini is coming, Immersive View is expanding and more

All of these features are made possible by Gemini's powerful authoring, reasoning, and aggregation capabilities – based on our trusted data across 250 million locations around the world and insights from the Maps community. These features begin this week in the US on Android and iOS. You'll see similar experiences in Search in the coming months, including AI-powered review summaries and the option to ask detailed questions about locations.

Take the stress out of driving

We're rolling out a major update to make your entire journey easier from start to finish. It's now easier to explore your route before setting off. Simply get directions and tap “Add Stops.” You'll see top sights, attractions, scenic spots and restaurants to help you plan the perfect trip.

Sometimes driving in unfamiliar areas with multiple lanes, forks and exits can be confusing. To help you anticipate this, our improved navigation shows you lanes, pedestrian crossings and traffic signs clearly on the map. And because no one likes to find out at the last minute that they have to merge, we'll show you exactly which lane you should be in: When navigating, simply follow the blue line in the lane markings.

We also offer you more ways to keep you and your passengers informed. As the winter months approach for many of us, you can now see and report weather disruptions along your route – including flooded, unplowed and poor visibility roads.
