George Kittle's 2 touchdowns give the Seahawks their third straight loss; The 49ers hit .500 again

The San Francisco 49ers played their third in their last four games on Thursday and showed why they are still the kings of the NFC West.

The Niners traveled to Seattle and defeated the Seahawks 36-24 in a must-win game.

The Niners took a 16-0 lead and got those points with three field goals and a 76-yard touchdown from Brock Purdy to Deebo Samuel. Seattle got into the game with a field goal to end the half, but early in the second half it was George Kittle who found the end zone and gave San Fran a 23-3 lead.

But the Seahawks weren't dead yet, as Laviska Shenault took the ensuing kickoff 97 yards to the house, cutting the deficit to 10 points. Seattle then forced a punt and a 13-play drive ended with a Kenneth Walker score, leaving the score at 23-20 at the end of the third quarter.

Midway through the fourth quarter, Geno Smith threw a costly interception on his own side of the field and three plays later Kittle scored his second touchdown of the night.

d ran for a fourth-and-goal to keep Seattle's hopes alive, but Isaac Guerendo, filling in for the injured Jordan Mason, ran 76 yards and then Kyle Juszczyk scored to nearly thwart the ball.

It's the third straight loss for Seattle as things appear to be unraveling after winning the first three games of the season. As for San Francisco, it was a big boost after last week's loss to the Arizona Cardinals – both teams are now 3-3.

Purdy threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns and completed 18 of his 28 passes. Geno Smith rushed for 312 yards but was picked off twice.

San Fran hosts the Kansas City Chiefs for a Super Bowl rematch next week, while the Seahawks travel to Atlanta. for a date with the Falcons.
