With just a week until Election Day, another member of a Republican political dynasty is endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.

On Tuesday, Barbara Pierce Bush, daughter of former President George W. Bush and granddaughter of former President George HW Bush, announced that she is supporting Harris in next week's election.

The former first daughter the fraternal twin sister of NBC “Today” anchor Jenna Bush Hager spent part of last weekend campaigning, knocking on doors for Democrats in battleground Pennsylvania.

“It was inspiring to gather with friends and meet Harris-Walz campaign voters in Pennsylvania this weekend,” Bush, 42, told People magazine. “I hope they move our country forward and protect women’s rights.”

This is not the first time that Barbara Pierce Bush has publicly broken with the Republican Party. In 2017, she was a keynote speaker at a Planned Parenthood fundraiser in Texas, where she praised the organization's work and emphasized the need for its advocacy under the Donald Trump administration.

While her father has made it clear he has no plans to support a candidate this cycle, his former vice president Dick Cheney has already voiced his support for Harris. And Cheney's daughter, former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., has appeared with Harris on the campaign trail several times in recent weeks. Bush isn't the only former daughter supporting Harris. Susan Ford Bales, daughter of former President Gerald Ford, announced her support for vice president last week.
