DETROIT – Back to Cleveland they go.

For another game.

The winner takes all.

The Cleveland Guardians defeated the Detroit Tigers 5-4 in Game 4 of the ALDS on Thursday night, evening the series and setting up a series finale that's all about gritting your teeth and holding your breath. These two teams will play in Game 5 on Saturday at Progressive Field in Cleveland.

The good news for the Tigers? They will start Tarik Skubal – arguably the best pitcher in the American League.

In many ways, this was a missed opportunity for the Tigers. They played at home, in front of a packed house of 44,923 spectators, without pressure. Cleveland had its back to the wall in a must-win game.

And the Tigers appeared to be in great position, taking a 3-2 lead in the seventh.

But with two outs in the seventh inning, David Fry hit a two-run home run off Beau Brieske to give the Guardians a 4-3 lead.

Then, in the ninth, Fry pitched a perfect ball on a safety squeeze as Cleveland added another run.
