Harris tops Bret Baier, who doesn't stop interrupting

Saturday Night Live covered many of last week's attention-grabbing political moments in its cold open: Kamala Harris' interview with interrupting Fox News host Bret Baier, Donald Trump's difficult time convincing Latino voters to support him, and the former president's abdication a quick question During a town hall meeting, he had a speech-and-answer session to instead bob his head to music for forty minutes.

In her sit-up show on Fox, Harris (Maya Rudolph) called out Baier (Alec Baldwin) for showing the fake clip of Trump, debunking his threats to use military force against the “enemy within.” which he said included prominent Democrats such as Reps. Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi. The clip that Baier asked Harris to respond to actually showed Trump (James Austin Johnson) making one of his asides at an all-female town hall filled with his supporters, which Fox did not disclose.

“With all due respect, this is not the right clip,” she told the Fox host, who then played another clip that he claimed was the right one. But this picture was also wrong because it showed Trump walking around the stage and listening to “YMCA.”

“I think he makes a pretty compelling argument,” responded Baier, who later pushed hard to get Harris to insult Trump’s supporters.

Harris didn't bite and retaliated against her interviewer by simply saying the words “abortion,” “womb,” and “menstruation,” which triggered involuntary exclamations of horror from Baier.

Near the end of the opening remarks, Trump was shown answering a man's question at a Univision town hall, telling him at one point that the Jan. 6 insurrection was a “day of love.”

On trend

“No one died except the few who did. And now that I have your voice, let’s dance!”

Baier ended the interview by asking why Americans should vote for her. Then he interrupted her answer seven times in about 30 seconds, including for something completely unrelated: whether she was excited about the fantasy film Evil will be published next month.
