How does the Cowboys' deal compare to the Browns' recent move?

Amari Cooper's NFL career has been a long and winding road.

The former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, once a first-round draft pick out of Alabama, has now been traded twice in the last three seasons, with the most recent transaction coming Tuesday when Cooper was traded from Cleveland to Buffalo.

How did the 2018 trade that brought Cooper to Dallas compare to the other deals teams have made for the five-time Pro Bowler? Let's take a look at the numbers:

Oakland Raiders (2015-18)

Cost of acquiring Cooper: No. 4 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Statistics: 225 catches, 3,183 yards, 19 receiving touchdowns in 52 games over three and a half seasons. Made NFL All-Rookie Team in 2015 and Pro Bowler in 2015 and 2016. The Raiders made it to the postseason once during his tenure (0-1).

Return for Cooper: On October 22, 2018, Cooper was traded to the Cowboys in exchange for a 2019 first-round pick. The selection would later be used for safety Johnathan Abram.

Dallas Cowboys (2018-21)

Return for Cooper: On March 16, 2022, Cooper was traded to the Browns in exchange for a 2022 fifth-round pick and a swap of 2022 sixth-round picks, almost two years to the day after the 27-year-old signed a five-year contract. $100 million extension with Dallas. Cost of acquiring Cooper: 2022 fifth-round pick and a swap of 2022 sixth-round picks with Dallas.

Statistics: 174 catches, 2,660 yards, 16 touchdowns in 38 games over two-plus seasons. Reached the Pro Bowl in 2023. Browns made it to the postseason once during his tenure (0-1).

Return for Cooper: On October 15, 2024, Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round pick were traded to Buffalo in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick.

Buffalo Bills (since 2024)

Cost of acquiring Cooper: 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick.
