According to all 652 voting centers, Republican incumbent Pam Little has won re-election to the Texas State Board of Education District 12 seat, defeating her Democratic opponent George King, according to voting results from the Texas Secretary of State.

  • Little received 561,675 votes, or 63.43% of the votes cast
  • King received 323,763 votes, or 36.57% of the votes cast

More than 885,000 votes were cast in the race across the District's 12-county region, and more than 80% of votes were cast through early voting. All results are unofficial until obtained.   • King received 259,526 votes, or 37.55% of the votes cast

Republican incumbent Pam Little is leading her Democratic opponent George King in the race for Texas State Board of Education District 12, according to early voting results from the Texas Secretary of State.

The details

According to unofficial election results on the Texas Secretary of State's website, Little is in the lead with more than 70% of votes cast so far.

  • Little has received 78,522 votes so far, or 75.44% of the votes cast
  • King has received 25,561 votes so far, or 24.56% of votes cast

The District 12 representative of the Texas State Board of Education represents all or part of 12 counties, including Collin and Denton counties. Little has held the role since 2018.

The context

Four candidates were in the primary for the Republican bid for the District 12 seat, including Little as well as Chad Green, Jamie Kohlmann and Matt Rostami.

After the March primary, there was a runoff election in which none of the four candidates received a majority of the nearly 175,000 votes cast. Little received 36.38% of the votes cast in this election and Kohlmann received 27.04% of the votes cast. Opponents Chad Green and Matt Rostami received 20.27% and 16.32% of the votes cast, respectively, and did not advance to the runoff.

Little defeated Kohlmann, receiving nearly 51% of the more than 60,000 votes cast, securing the Republican bid to face Democratic nominee George King in the general election.

King had no challengers in the Democratic primary.
