Indianapolis Colts at Minnesota Vikings: Second Quarter Review and Third Quarter Discussion

They walk into the locker rooms at US Bank Stadium at halftime and the Minnesota Vikings are trailing the Indianapolis Colts 7-0.

The Colts had the ball early in the quarter but quickly put it away after a three-pointer. The Vikings had a solid performance, but Sam Darnold was sacked by Grover Stewart and fumbled, while Kenny Moore caught it and returned it 33 yards for an Indianapolis touchdown to make it 7-0 for the visitors.

After the turnover, the Vikings moved back into Indianapolis territory, but the drive stalled and they called on Will Reichard for a 53-yard field goal attempt. And for the first time this year, the rookie missed the ball and pushed the kick wide right, leaving the Vikings scoreless.

The Colts were kind enough to miss a field goal attempt of their own on the ensuing possession, as Matt Gay pushed his own 53-yard attempt wide left just after the two-minute warning to give the Vikings good field position.

Minnesota pushed the ball deep into Colts territory on their two-minute drive, but a sack on Darnold stopped the drive and caused the Vikings to call Reichard again. This time Reichard. . I threw it off the right post and it fell of no use. That left the score at 7-0, which is where we are at halftime.

The Vikings moved the football, but they had a few bad plays that ruined it all. Hopefully they can get the ball first in the second half.
