Jean-Pierre burned for denying Biden, Trump supporters called him nonsense: 'These people think you're stupid'

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced immediate backlash on Wednesday after she denied that President Biden had called Trump supporters “trash.”

During a virtual Harris campaign call with Voto Latino on Tuesday evening, Biden took a swipe at former President Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden, which made headlines after an insult Comedian Tony Hinchiffe made jokes They mocked various ethnic groups, with one joke calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of trash.”

“The only trash I see floating out there is his supporters,” Biden said on the call. “His demonization of Latinos is incomprehensible and un-American.”

“Just to be clear, he didn't call Trump supporters trash,” Jean-Pierre told reporters at the daily White House briefing, repeating a statement Biden made to clean up his remarks.

“He doesn’t view Trump supporters or anyone who supports Trump as trash,” she said, adding that Biden has said multiple times that he is a “president for everyone,” including those in red and blue states didn't vote for him.

However, commentators argued that this may say more about Jean-Pierre's assessment of the American public than Biden's actual statement.

She knows we can see the video for ourselves? That we’re not as clueless as your boss?”

Bo French, Tarrant County GOP Chairman, commented: “It amazes me that more people aren't appalled by these people's outright lies. We watched the video. He clearly called us trash. I feel like swing voters are done with this. “BS.”

White House press reporter Anthony Hughes called Jean-Pierre's response “ridiculous.”

“Man, that was a gift to Trump,” quipped podcaster Matt Bilinsky.
