Kim Richards sent to psychiatric custody after drug relapse: report

Kim Richards has relapsed after years of sobriety — and was even admitted to a psychiatric hospital earlier this month, TMZ reported Friday.

The 60-year-old “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum was reportedly jailed for 72 hours in early September after acting “incoherently” at a Hilton hotel.

The outlet reported that Richards was staying at the hotel when she began acting out of character.

Police were called and when the former child star allegedly refused to leave the hotel, she was placed on hold at 5150 and taken away by ambulance, according to TMZ.

Kim then moved into a house in Los Angeles that belonged to her younger sister Kyle Richards, but left shortly afterwards.

However, on Wednesday, Kim returned to her home and neighbors called police concerned about her behavior.

When police showed up, TMZ reported that authorities were told Kyle didn't want Kim in the house because she had been cut off from her family in hopes of getting her sober.

The former Bravo star, who was a full-time cast member on “RHOBH” from Seasons 1 to 5, dealt with drug issues very publicly, with even Kyle outing her as an “alcoholic” in the first season.

However, Kim appeared to turn things around when Andy Cohen revealed that Bravo had previously agreed to pay for his rehab stay in 2011.

“Once it became clear that this was a real problem, we wanted to take responsibility and not put them in a situation where things could get worse,” the Watch What Happens Live host, 56, shared with Book. Diamonds and Rosé”.

“We thought about her family and wanted to work with her to get better. Bravo paid for her rehab.”

In 2019, Kyle Bravo, 55, credited Bravo with saving her older sister's life, saying on “The Jenny McCarthy Show”: “If anything, being on the show has held her accountable and that says you too.”

“She says it saved her life because, you know, there's no place to hide and everyone knows it – now wherever she goes, people know who she is. She doesn't get away with anything! So it actually helped her!”

Kim wasn't a full-time cast member on “RHOBH” for many years, but has made several guest appearances in recent seasons.

It's unclear exactly when Kim reportedly fell off the plan.

Last June, Kim, Kyle and their eldest sister, Kathy Hilton, were seen singing karaoke together for their daughter Whitney Davis' wedding weekend.

Page Six reached out to representatives for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
