Latest on Calvin Ridley, Tony Pollard, Will Levis, L'Jarius Sneed

This story has been updated.

The list of Tennessee Titans who were not seen at practice on Friday, the final session before Sunday's game against the New England Patriots, is disturbingly long.

The Titans (1-6) host the Patriots (2-6) on Sunday (noon, FOX) at Nissan Stadium. Ten Titans were missing from Friday's session, including key starters such as running backs Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears, receivers Tyler Boyd and Calvin Ridley, defensive backs L'Jarius Sneed and Amani Hooker, defensive back T'Vondre Sweat and guard Dillon Radunz.

Speaking to the media Friday, Titans coach Brian Callahan ruled out only Sneed and lineman Andrew Rupcich for Sunday and said the remaining players are expected to be listed as questionable on the practice report. When the practice report was released Friday afternoon, the Titans also downgraded Spears to Out.

Boyd, Hooker, Radunz, Pollard, Sweat, cornerback Tre Avery and quarterback Will Levis were all listed as questionable. There is no injury status for Ridley and he was listed as absent from Friday's training session due to rest reasons.

Callahan said a long list of decisions must be made by Saturday about which players will be elevated from the practice squad or placed on the active roster to address any injuries on the roster.

“We’ll take until game day to decide on some of those,” Callahan said. “Most people are confident. But we’ll see how it turns out by Sunday.”

Levi's injury update: Will the Tennessee Titans QB return against the Patriots?

Quarterback Will Levis is listed as questionable as he continues to recover from an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder. Levis was a limited participant in practice this week, but he and his coaches both said the focus was on pushing his arm harder than in the weeks leading up to the games in Indianapolis and Buffalo to get a more complete look at how ready he is is to play.

If Levis is unable to attend, experienced Mason Rudolph will be called upon to make his third straight start. The Titans are 0-2 in Rudolph's two starts, with two significant losses to Buffalo and Detroit. Rudolph has averaged more yards per attempt per game than Levis this season, but Levis has the higher touchdown percentage, passer rating and completion percentage.

“It was a good week,” Callahan said of Levis. “He has felt a lot better this week than last week, which is positive. You can see that the strength and endurance are coming back somewhat. We'll see until game day, but he's better than he was last week, and that's everything we hoped for.

Journeyman Trevor Siemian is the Titans' No. 3 quarterback option and remains on the practice squad. Siemian has already been called up from the practice squad twice this year, meaning he can only be called up one more time this season.
