LeBron James praises Bills QB Josh Allen after incredible first half against the Jaguars

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen showed a brilliant performance in the first half of week three Monday Night Football against the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he completed 22 of 28 passes for 247 yards and four touchdowns and his team built a 34-3 lead at halftime.

It was simply a model half for Allen, where he played to his abilities. He took what the defense gave him and often worked the ball down the field on open short- to medium-length passes before attacking the secondary for big plays, like his 28-yard pass to Dalton Kincaid in the first quarter or his 24-yard touchdown pass to rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman.

This half should be studied by aspiring quarterbacks everywhere (and even some currently playing in the NFL), because it was nearly flawless. Buffalo fans are used to Allen's heroics, but this half was special; even four-time NBA MVP and mainstream superstar LeBron James was impressed with what he saw, praising the Bills' signal-caller on X midway through the first half.

James has been the unmistakable face of the NBA for over two decades and one of the most recognizable figures in American culture, so the praise from an athlete of his status should not be underestimated. What can we say? Special players know special players when they see them.

This isn't the first time James has expressed sympathy for Allen. A recent ESPN poll of 103 anonymous NFL players concluded that Allen was the NFL's most overrated signal-caller. On Instagram, the four-time NBA champion defended the passer, commenting on a post: “I GUARANTEE he'll be at the top of the scouting report before he plays offensively against Buffalo.”

Allen's start against the Jaguars was nothing short of spectacular, so much so that he caught the attention of some of the most recognizable sports figures in the world. What makes things even better (or worse, if you're a Jacksonville fan) is the fact that there's still another half to play.
