Liam first spoke in the interview about how he landed the role of Geralt of Rivia two years ago when Henry Cavill left the series:

I hadn't seen the TV show. And I hadn't read the books. But I played the video game like ten years ago or something. And it remains one of the best video games of all time to this day. And Netflix came to me almost two years ago and said they wanted me to just step in and take over.”

Liam continued: “I was really excited about taking on this character since I was a fan of the video game. But I said, you know, let me watch the TV show and the books and really get into it.

He also spoke a bit about the recent filming in Wales: “I've been filming a series called The Witcher for the last nine months. We were (in Wales) for two weeks. And the first week was beautiful sunshine and blue skies. And then the second week was kind of like tornado season.

After filming wrapped in Wales, Liam and the gang returned to England to film the remaining scenes at Longcross Studios.

In the same interview, Liam talked about the filming schedule for the final two seasons of The Witcher. He spent the last nine months in London preparing and filming the fourth season. There are still three weeks left. That means the end of October 2024, as we reported.

Additionally, Hemsworth revealed that they will be taking a four-month break and then continue filming season five for another eight months.

After this week of filming, I still have about three weeks left. So we've been shooting for about eight months now. Three more weeks, then we'll take a break for about four months and come back next year and do another eight months.

This means that production on season five will begin around March 2025 and run until October 2025. Of course, these dates haven't been set yet and we'll see if anything changes as filming gets closer.

The Witcher Season 4 is in production for a 2025 release. Andrzej Sapkowski's new Witcher book is scheduled to be published in winter 2024/2025 The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep The anime is also scheduled to be released in February 2025.
