Live college football scores, updates: Kansas State at Colorado and more

We knew Week 7 would have a hard time matching the drama of Week 6, but it was almost as intense.

In the day's main event, No. 3 Oregon defeated No. 2 Ohio State 32-31 in a back-and-forth heavyweight contest in Eugene. The Big Ten showdown was the first top-three matchup of the season and featured numerous lead changes and a dramatic finish at every turn.

And in perhaps the most exciting game on Saturday, No. 13 LSU came back to beat No. 9 Mississippi with a TD throw from Garrett Nussmeier in overtime. It was a crucial result in a crowded SEC title race as we reach the halfway point of this year's college football season.

Earlier in the day, No. 7 Alabama was dealing with another rock-solid game at home against South Carolina. The Crimson Tide needed some late-game defensive heroics to hold off the Gamecocks for a 27-25 win. Later, No. 4 Penn State needed a comeback of its own before pulling out a 33-30 win in overtime at the Coliseum.

Meanwhile, the No. 1 team in the country left no doubt about how the Red River Rivalry game against Oklahoma would turn out. The Longhorns allowed an early field goal before scoring 34 straight points in a loss in the Cotton Bowl.

We'll see this late Saturday evening.

Time: 10:15 p.m. | TV: ESPN | Line: Kansas State -4 | Overall: 56.5

Kansas State is a good benchmark for the Buffaloes' seemingly improved roster. The team has already matched its 2023 win total and is just two wins away from bowl eligibility. The biggest test for Colorado will be their defense up front. Against the Buffaloes, teams average over 150 rushing yards per game and KSU RB DJ Giddens and QB Avery Johnson each average 7.3 yards per carry.
