PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Tuesday is Election Day and Pennsylvania plays a crucial role in the 2024 presidential election as its 19 electoral votes represent the largest prize among the swing states expected to decide the Electoral College outcome.

According to ABC News, the two candidates were deadlocked in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania's U.S. Senate will help determine control of the chamber. There is also a focus on Senate elections in New Jersey and Delaware. The Democrats currently only have a narrow majority in the Senate.

Now it's up to the voters.

Judge denies request to extend voting hours in Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

A judge has rejected a Democratic request to extend voting hours in Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

The request came amid long lines at Lehigh University.

Scott Hough, the vice chairman of the Northampton County Election Commission, confirms to ABC News that voters in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania – near Lehigh University – are waiting in line for up to seven hours to cast their ballot.

Hough said it was due to a broken voting machine in one county. The local fire department recently conducted a safety check for people in line.

Judge extends polling location hours in Burlington County due to long wait times

Voters in Burlington County have until 9 p.m. Tuesday to cast their ballots due to long wait times on Election Day, the New Jersey Elections Office confirmed to ABC News.

The extended hours came at the request of New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin, who filed a lawsuit.

The extension only applies to Burlington County.
