Live election results: Check results in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware

The polling stations are closed and the votes are being counted Pennsylvania, New Jersey And Delaware as the 2024 election nears its much-anticipated conclusion.

Pennsylvania, one of the few swing states, is expected to play a major role in deciding who will lead the country over the next four years.

Polls will remain open until 10 p.m. in Cambria County after a judge today approved a two-hour extension due to a voting machine failure.

president Joe Biden turned the state blue in the last presidential election, but Donald Trump Pennsylvania previously won against Hillary Clinton in 2016.

While New Jersey and Delaware are expected to remain Democratic presidential strongholds, statewide elections in each state could help tip the national balance of power.

President, US Senate, US House of Representatives

For the second straight presidential election, all eyes are on Pennsylvania, as many experts predict that the infamous 19-electoral vote swing state will have a major influence on who leads the country over the next four years.

Both candidates made several stops in Pennsylvania during their campaigns and the only presidential debate in between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump was a guest Philadelphia – a city with over 1 million registered voters.

Incumbent Bob Casey (D) and David McCormick (R) is vying with five other candidates for Pennsylvania's U.S. Senate seat. Casey, whose website describes him as a “voice for middle-class families, workers and seniors,” has won his last three reelection attempts since first winning a U.S. Senate seat in 2006.

Meanwhile, McCormick has never held political office and lost the 2022 Pennsylvania Republican primary for U.S. Senate to Dr. Mehmet Oz, who ultimately lost to John Fetterman. Still, the Associated Press called McCormick's campaign “the strongest challenge to Casey in his three re-election bids.”

Attorney General, Auditor General, Treasurer, State Senate, State House

Voters also cast their ballots Tuesday to decide statewide races for attorney general, comptroller and treasurer. More than a dozen U.S. House races are taking place across the state, and even more candidates are vying for seats in the state's Senate and House of Representatives.

President, US Senate, US House of Representatives

While the presidential race in Pennsylvania is seen as a back-and-forth race, political experts in New Jersey expect a far more decisive outcome. The Garden State has not been in the red in a presidential election since George HW Bush in 1988.

While New Jersey is considered a Democratic bastion, Republican voters are hoping for the so-called “Red Wave.” almost taken off the pitch Incumbent Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy's vote in the state's latest gubernatorial election continues to grow.

New Jersey voters decided U.S. House elections in every district, and people living just outside New York City voted in a special election.

President, US Senate, US House of Representatives

Like New Jersey, Delaware is considered a Democratic stronghold, and many experts expect that to remain the case for the presidency in 2024. The First State last voted for George HW Bush in the 1988 election and has remained blue in eight presidential election cycles since then.

Delaware voters elected Lisa Blunt Rochester (D) and Eric Hansen (R) to represent the state in the U.S. Senate. Sarah McBride, a Democrat and the first transgender elected state representative, challenged John Whalen for the state's lone U.S. House seat.

Governor, State Senate, State House

Delaware voters will elect a new governor after Democrat John Carney decided not to run for re-election and launched his campaign for mayor of Wilmington.

The blue-leaning state will choose between Matt Meyer (D) and Michael Ramone (R) as its next governor. Meyer, a former school math teacher and small business owner, is focused on fixing Delaware's “broken and underfunded education system.” Ramone, the minority leader in the Delaware House of Representatives, has vowed to be a “governor for all” and to fill his Cabinet with “diverse viewpoints” that will focus on improving education, the economy and public safety.

Voters also selected candidates from nine state Senate districts and candidates for the Delaware House of Representatives from 40 legislative districts.
