Tolvanen started the regular season with his first goal in Seattle's home opener against St. Louis on October 8.

In the 2023–24 season, Tolvanen scored 41 points (16 goals, 25 assists) in 81 games, ranking fourth in goals and fifth in both points and assists among all Kraken skaters. His 100th career goal also marked the decisive win at the 2024 NHL Winter Classic. Against his former club, Tolvanen has scored two goals in five games in his career.

The Kraken will have to gear up when they face former teammate Jeremy Lauzon, who has 23 career hits against Seattle skaters. Lauzon set the NHL record for goals in a season with an incredible 383 in the 2023-24 season, surpassing Matt Martin's previous mark of 382 from the 2014-15 season. Lauzon's career statistics include 290 game points, 14 goals, 30 assists and 44 points.

Puck drop is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. PST at Bridgestone Arena.
