MLB News: Alex Verdugo sends a clear message to Yankees teammates heading into Game 4 against the Dodgers

Alex Verdugo scored two runs for that one New York Yankees in their first home game, but it wasn't enough and they lost 2-4. The Los Angeles Dodgers doubled their score again. However, Verdugo didn't hold back and encouraged his teammates with the mentality of a fighter. They say they can match what the Dodgers have done.

In his comments after Game 3, the Yankees left fielder referred to the upcoming World Series game as on “hard fight” However, note that if the Dodgers can win three in a row, so can the Yankees.

“If this team wins three in a row, why can’t we win three in a row?” Verdugo said. He also sent a message to his teammates to get back into the series, stating: “We just have to score a little earlier… Their pitchers do a good job against us limiting the number of baserunners. I think we need to set the tone a little earlier.”

Verdugo emphasized that he and his Yankees teammates must do this Play smarter against the Dodgers pitchers and bring a lot of energy from the first pitch. He also acknowledged the challenge of the series: “They are just one win away; We’re four wins away.”

Game 4: A new beginning for the Yankees

According to Verdugo, everything starts again in Game 4, again at Yankee Stadium. The goal, as Verdugo laid out, is to win both home games and then return to LA to win two more. “We’ll take on Flaherty, hopefully take care of our business and go there and win two.” he said.

As for what drives him and the Yankees toward a comeback, Verdugo confirmed it's all on his heart. “Nobody said this would be easy.” He urged his teammates to stick together for the rest of the World Series and hopes that the fans will continue to support them in the fight for a win in Game 4.
