New York Giants rookie suffers injury before Washington Commanders game

The Washington Commanders sat on their couch at the end of Week 8 and watched their NFC East rival New York Giants to get a feel for what to expect in their next game.

They also saw a potential big player miss next week's game with multiple injuries.

Giants rookie running back Tyrone Tracy suffered a shoulder injury, returned, ran for a 45-yard touchdown and suffered a head and neck injury shortly after, jeopardizing his status for the Week 9 matchup against the Commanders.

Tracy, a fifth-round pick out of Purdue, ran for a career-best 145 yards before leaving the game. He should be examined today to see if he can train later in the week.

Tracy started the season as veteran Devin “Motor” Singletary's second choice, but when he was injured, the rookie stepped in and performed so well that he got the majority of the carries in the team's Week 8 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers .

If Tracy were to sit, it would be a great relief to the commander's defensive line. However, Singletary will be looking to solidify his status back at the top of the depth chart, so Washington must be ready.
