NFL scores, live updates: Lions take on Packers in massive NFC North showdown

The NFC North takes center stage in the NFL world in Week 9 as the Detroit Lions travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers. The winner takes the division lead and, in Detroit's case, a two-game lead in the division if they win the first game. The Lions have rattled off five straight wins and have turned heads with three 40-plus point games in the last three, highlighted by last Sunday's 52-14 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

The Packers are also hot, having won four straight, but there were questions at quarterback heading into this week's game. Jordan Love sat out last week's win over Jacksonville with a groin injury but returned to practice Thursday. He was allowed to play on Sunday, so Malik Willis will be his replacement again.

(Bye: Steelers, 49ers)

Live25 updates

  • Well, that's one way to stop an onside kick.

  • AJ Brown is officially out for the Eagles, but they hang on for now in the fourth quarter in Philadelphia.

  • Rams score to start the second half

After completely falling apart at the end of the first half, Matthew Stafford and the Rams opened the third quarter with a long 11-play touchdown drive.

    The Seahawks now lead 13-10.

  • Jaguars score again!

Well, that quickly changed in Philadelphia. Saquon Barkley fumbled on the Eagles' first play of the drive, and Walker ran it back 35 yards for a touchdown. Suddenly the Jaguars are only one point away.

  • Jaguars find the end zone

The Jaguars are finally on the roster in Philly. Trevor Lawrence just scored a touchdown and then hit Thomas for the 2-point conversion. The Eagles’ lead is now 22-8.

  • The Lions extend their lead

Jahmyr Gibbs just reached the end zone on fourth down and the Lions ran away with this thing in Green Bay.

  • Jalen Hurts brings it into play

Jalen Hurts just extended the Eagles' lead after a long touchdown run of his own.

  • Seahawks score after Nacua's ejection

The Seahawks took full advantage of the Rams' terrible halftime finish. Geno just found Smith-Njigba for his second touchdown in the final minute of the half, and suddenly the Seahawks are up 13-3.

  • Puka Nacua was ejected for throwing a punch

Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua was sent off just before halftime in Seattle. After an interception by Matthew Stafford, Nacua struck.

  • The Seahawks finally find the end zone

We finally have a touchdown in Seattle. Geno Smith just scored on Tyler Lockett to give the Seahawks the lead before halftime.

The Seahawks also just intercepted Matthew Stafford.

  • Jordan Love with a terrible pick-6 against Kirby Joseph

This could be because the groin injury prevented Love from moving the way he wanted, but it was simply an incredibly poor decision, and Kirby Joseph's league-best sixth interception of the season is a touchdown the Lions, and Detroit now leads 17-3.

  • The Cardinals are in control of the Bears

Arizona has been quietly holding around .500 and can move to 5-4 and stay in the NFC playoff picture with a win over Chicago. After Emari DeMercado's 53-yard touchdown that gave the Cardinals a 21-9 lead at the end of the first half, it looks like they're on the right track.

  • Saquon Barkley, AGAIN!

A 3rd and 17 draw play is often a safety measure to get into better position for a field goal or punt. But apparently Saquon Barkley isn't particularly into punts, or what in this case would have been a field goal attempt. He has another multi-point game today against Jacksonville, and Philadelphia has a three-point lead at halftime.

  • Trey Benson scores his first NFL score and extends the Cardinals' lead

The rookie running back gave the Cardinals an eight-point lead.

  • The Lions' Brian Branch was ejected for a hit on Bo Melton

Branch was cited for a personal foul on the play and replay officials in New York ruled he would be sent off for the hit. And when Branch left the field, he was cited for unsportsmanlike conduct and the two 15-yard penalties gave Green Bay 30 yards of free field position.

  • Josh Jacobs has a great first half

He has everything but a touchdown with 6:30 left in the second quarter. Jacobs has already rushed for over 100 total yards for the game.

  • Josh Jacobs flashes his wheels in Green Bay

By the start of the second quarter, Jacobs had already rushed for over 75 yards in terrible Green Bay weather conditions.

  • Seriously, how could the Giants let this guy go?

  • The Lions come onto the field after the fourth-down gamble

Detroit got inside Green Bay's 5-yard line and on a 4th down gamble, Jared Goff hit Amon-a St. Brown for the score. The Lions have now scored touchdowns in each of their last eight appearances inside the red zone.

  • Tight end rushing touchdown in Arizona

Trey McBride gets the Cardinals on the field first with a touchdown run. Not only is it his first career rushing touchdown, it's also the first rushing touchdown of his NFL career. It's not bad coming off National Tight End Day last week.
