Nick Singleton Injury Update: Report reveals Penn State RB's status vs. UCLA

After missing a workout this week, Penn State run back Nick Singleton is expected to play against UCLAaccording to a report by Matt Zenitz. James Franklin He had previously said he could not provide an update on Singleton's status after missing the media portion of Wednesday's practice.

Singleton is a key part of Penn State's rushing attack Kaytron Allen. It's unclear what stopped him from training, and Franklin said he did could not be updated where things stood when I met with reporters afterward.

“No, not at this point,” Franklin said when asked if he could update Singleton’s status against UCLA in Week 6.

However, Singleton is reportedly “doing well” despite the absence. That bodes well for its status on Saturday, as Penn State will look to improve to 5-0 after a win last week against Penn State Illinois during the annual White Out game.

Nick Singleton enters Saturday's game against UCLA as Penn State's leading rusher in four games. He has a team-high 408 rushing yards and three touchdowns and helped the Nittany Lions to a perfect 4-0 record to start the year. It fits in seamlessly Andy Kotelnickis New scheme and a big reason Penn State is averaging nearly 500 yards of offense.

Allen is also a key part of the rushing attack, sitting behind Singleton with 289 yards on the ground. But Franklin also pointed out the roles Quinton Martin And Corey Smith to play in the running back room after Singleton's absence on Wednesday.

“(Martin and Smith) have done some really good things and they've learned to tackle things so far. I think both of those guys, especially Quinton, are preparing and ready to play,” Franklin continued. “But we’ll just see how things develop.”

UCLA is also dealing with some uncertainty on offense heading into Saturday's game. Ethan Garbers is dealing with an injury, leaving his status against Penn State uncertain. Franklin noted They haven't seen how the Nittany Lions prepare for the Bruins' quarterback situation yet Justin Martin much.

“We control the things we can control,” Franklin said. “From what I’ve seen and heard, they plan on playing (Garbers) when he’s playable. All we can do is prepare for what we saw on tape. We didn't see the other child. We went back and watched his high school tape, but there’s not much we can do other than prepare for what we saw on film.”
