Several social media users shared a video on Monday in which they referred to themselves as rappers Nicki Minaj has supported the former president Donald Trump. In the clip, which is going viral, the singer says she would vote for the Republican presidential candidate if she moved to the US. However, the clip is not from the 2024 cycle.

Nicki Minaj has previously admitted that she came to the US as an illegal immigrant. Although at the time of her move her mother and later her father had legal permanent residence. Her husband, Kenneth Petty, was sentenced to home confinement after violating the terms of his three-year probation. He is a registered sex offender and pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in 2006.

A video of Minaj talking about Trump went viral on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. She is heard talking to a man, who appears to be Petty, about moving to the US and supporting Donald Trump.

However, after releasing the video, podcaster and Trump supporter Rob Smith noted that the clip was from 2019 and Nicki Minaj did NOT support the former president. “OK UPDATE: Apparently this is from 2019, when Trump was president for the first time. Sorry for the fake news! Let’s keep hope alive for next time!” he said on the Elon Musk-led platform.

The video sparked everything idiots,” one person wrote.
