No Man's Sky now runs in 8K on PS5 Pro

It's been a super cool week discovering how games use Sony's new PSSR technology on the PS5 Pro, but one of the most fascinating was how Hello Games used the technology for No Man's Sky.

As confirmed by the team, the game now runs at 4K/60FPS and if you have an 8K display, you can also run the game at 8K/30FPS. To my knowledge, this is the second game that can use 8K on the PS5 (the first was F1 2024).

That's not all that's been improved, though: improved lighting, higher-quality reflections, higher-quality ambient occlusion across the board, and these updates also affect PlayStation VR2.

We also just published our PS5 Pro review. In it we said: “The PS5 Pro offers significant visual improvements across the board.” In most cases that means 4K resolution at a buttery smooth 60 FPS, but thanks to PSSR that seems to be just the beginning of what's possible. While it may not be for everyone at this price, those who splurge will not be disappointed.”
