Washington State and Colorado join this week's rankings

With No. 20 Illinois, No. 21 Missouri and No. 24 Navy suffering significant losses to ranked opponents and No. 25 Vanderbilt also losing (albeit narrowly) to a ranked opponent, there were certainly open spots in the latest AP poll. This week's newcomers are No. 22 Washington State and No. 23 Colorado.

Washington State moves into the rankings after a three-point win over San Diego State. The Cougars are 7-1 on the year, with their only loss currently coming at No. 15 Boise State.

Colorado is ranked for the first time since its magical September run in Coach Prime's first year as coach. The Buffaloes are now 6-2 and 4-1 in the Big 12 this season. Heisman candidates Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders from Colorado have rocked Boulder and the Buffaloes are fighting for a conference title.
