NYT “Connections” October 18: Answers and clues for game #495

Connections has become such a popular game that its owner, The New York Times, has opened up new ways to enjoy daily word puzzles.

First start in June 2023, Connections was an instant success and is the second most played game in the world NYT App and website following, Wordle.

earlier this month NYT announced the introduction of the Connections Archive, meaning subscribers can access 450 puzzles, pick up unfinished games, and track their gameplay history.

Fans of the game can also analyze their game statistics and winning streaks, helping players improve their tactics and discuss strategies with friends and family.

“We know how eager our players are to get involved Connections Statistics. By giving them the tools to track, analyze and reflect on their gameplay, we not only meet that need, but improve the entire experience,” said Jonathan Knight, NYTs Head of games in September.

“These new features are about deepening the fun of the game, keeping the challenge fresh and encouraging long-term engagement. This will be successful.” Connections even more rewarding, social and above all more entertaining.”

How to play “Connections.”

Players are tasked with finding a common theme from a table of 16 words. There are four words in each of the four topics, but some words may belong to more than one group. For example, a previous one Connections The puzzle included the words “Cater,” “Host,” “Plan,” and “Event” in the “Help Host a Party” category.

Each theme is divided into a color of yellow, blue, green and purple, each reflecting a different level of difficulty, starting with the easiest yellow. Players have four chances to make a mistake before losing the game. The puzzles are not always easy and use, among other things, a number of possible associations from homophones and puns.
