Olivia Munn stars in the new SKIMS campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Actress Olivia Munn bravely battled breast cancer and has the mastectomy scars to prove it, which she bares in a new SKIMS campaign.

The lingerie and loungewear brand founded by Kim Kardashian has tapped Munn to model for its new Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign, just months after Magic Mike Star was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy.
In April 2023, after a routine mammogram, Luminal B breast cancer was discovered in both of Munn's breasts. In addition to the double mastectomy, the actress underwent several surgeries including a hysterectomy and a salpingo-oophorectomy to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes.

Her husband, actor and comedian John Mulaney, and son Malcolm Hiệp, 2, supported Munn in her recovery, while the couple also welcomed a daughter, Méi June, via surrogate in September.

As part of the SKIMS breast cancer awareness campaign in collaboration with the Susan G. Komen organization, brand images show Munn in signature bras and shapewear. From October 23rd to 31st, SKIMS will donate ten percent of the retail price from in-store and online sales on the brand's official website to Susan G. Komen®.

On Wednesday (October 23), Munn appeared on the TODAY show, where she discussed the “really scary” decision to show the scars from her mastectomy.

“I feel like this is something I've been hiding for a long time, and it just feels like I can breathe a little bit more,” she said around the 8:45 minute mark in the video below.

“Because I know that there are so many women who have the same scars as me, I know that so many of them feel the same way I have felt about them for so long. And I hope they see the Skims campaign,” Munn continued. “Skims is so iconic and associated with beauty and sex appeal, and cancer really doesn't have the same connotation. So I really hope that other women who have walked the same path feel a little better after seeing it.”
