The proposed federal program aims to crack down on the Venezuelan gang. Tren de Araguaby calling the Foreign Enemies Law of 1798. The century-old law intended to target foreign criminal networks operating in the United States.

What is Operation Aurora and the Alien Enemies Act?

Trump's Operation Aurora is designed to quickly remove gang members, particularly from Tren de Aragua. Trump wants to use the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to specifically target criminal networks of illegal immigrants. “We will dismantle every criminal migrant network on American soil,” Trump said during his rally.
Trump continued to talk about the changes he said have taken place since he left office and blamed the Biden administration for the current state of the country.
“We are a country in need. We are being laughed at all over the world,” he said, criticizing President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. He believes that the current state of the nation is that they cannot get a handle on the country's security and immigration policies.

Trump's message to Colorado

In conversations with his supporters, Trump emphasized the rapidly increasing threat from illegal immigrant gangsparticularly the Tren de Aragua gang, which has been linked to violent crimes throughout the United States.
Trump promised that if re-elected, his administration would deploy elite units from ICE, Border Patrol and federal law enforcement to track down, arrest and deport every member of an illegal immigrant gang and ensure that no one remains in the country.
“If they try to return, they automatically face a 10-year prison sentence without parole,” he explained.
“And when they return to our country, they will be told that it is an automatic 10-year prison sentence without the possibility of parole,” he added.
The former president also said he would “demand the death penalty for any migrant who kills an American citizen or law enforcement officer.”
Trump criticized the Biden-Harris administration, saying: “My message today is simple.” “No one who has perpetrated the kind of violence and terror that Kamala Harris has allowed can ever become president.”
He assured Colorado voters that under his leadership he would restore the state's safety, saying, “Colorado will vote for me because I will make you safe again, and we will do it quickly.”

The rise of the Tren de Aragua

Tren de Aragua is a gang that originated in Venezuelan prisons. Over the years, this gang has spread throughout the United States. More and more violent incidents in the country can be traced back to its members.
Trump referred to a recent incident in Aurora in which gang members armed with rifles and handguns broke into an apartment and fatally shot a man. Three suspects, all illegal immigrants, were previously in Border Patrol custody but were released into the United States.
The gang has established a significant presence in Colorado and members have reportedly taken control of residences in Aurora. In response to these growing threats, Trump promised that his administration would take aggressive action to dismantle the gang's operations.
Despite the Biden administration's July sanctions against Tren de Aragua, which classified the gang as a “significant transnational criminal organization,” Trump said further action was needed.
While the government has offered rewards of up to $12 million for information on gang leaders and improved vetting, Trump maintains that Operation Aurora aims to take a more aggressive and direct approach to eliminating the gang's presence in the country.
