The Green Bay Packers will be without wide receiver Romeo Doubs in Week 5.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport first reported that the Packers had suspended Doubs for Week 5 after he missed several practices last week.

Packers general manager Brian Guntekunst confirmed this Tom Pelissero from NFL Network and said the team wants to “move forward positively” with Doubs.

“Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend Romeo for this week’s game,” Gutekunst said, according to Pelissero. “His decisions and actions during the week had a negative impact on the team and required us to take these actions. While we are certainly disappointed, we are confident that we will be able to move forward positively. Romeo is a valuable member of our team and we look forward to welcoming him back next week.”

This came after teams called the Packers to check on Doubs' trade availability, which the Packers showed no interest in, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.

Teams called the Packers this week and inquired about the possible availability of Romeo Doubs via trade. They were told that Green Bay had no interest in moving him at this time. The hope is that everything will be resolved by Monday morning and everyone will move forward.

He made 12 catches for 169 yards in four games in 2024. He is second on the team in receiving yards and is tied with tight end Tucker Kraft for second-most catches with 12.

Green Bay is 2-2 and saw the return of starting quarterback Jordan Love in Week 4 after he missed two games with a knee injury. Love's presence will be a huge boost to the Packers' offense and should also be a sign of more production from Doubs.

Doubs had 59 catches for 674 yards and eight touchdowns in 2023, Love's first season as a starter. He should have a chance to at least surpass his catch and yardage totals in 2024, but his frustration with the role raises concerns about his future with the team.
