Pete Davidson returns to Saturday Night Live after a year for a sketch with John Mulaney

Pete Davidson made a memorable return to Saturday Night Live on November 2nd, appearing in a musical sketch alongside host John Mulaney.

The 30-year-old Staten Island native, whose exes got together for a slumber party, joined the 42-year-old former SNL writer for a scene about a person asking Duane Reade to buy milk at the port.

Davidson, who was part of the SNL cast from 2014 to 2022, performed the sketch with Andrew Dismukes before augmenting it with a full rendition of various parodied show tunes.

The first recognizable number was a parody of The Lion King's “Circle of Life” as Kenan Thompson and Ego Nwodim sang about the milk.

Marcello Hernandez played a dispirited bottle of shampoo locked in a suitcase while he and Mulaney performed a Sound of Music parody.

Bowen Yang appeared as a Greyhound bus driver while filming “Master of the House” from the series “Les Miserables.”

Chloe Fineman portrayed Timothée Chalamet as the show referenced the actor's recent doppelganger competition in New York City with a cabaret tune.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams was mocked by Devon Walker over his alleged illegal ties to Turkey by singing to the tune of Prince Ali from Aladdin.

Elsewhere in the eight-minute sketch, Andy Samberg portrayed the bear that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. killed during his presidential campaign.

He sang to the tune of Hamilton's Alexander Hamilton.

Finally, the skit concluded with all the actors performing “We Go Together” from the final scene of “Grease.”

This latest musical satire follows several others from Mulaney, including Airport Sushi, Diner Lobster, Subway Churro and Bodega Bathroom.

Davidson last appeared on the long-running late-night show in October 2023, when he hosted an episode with musical guest Ice Spice.

Chappell Roan was the musical guest on Saturday's episode.

Fans expressed excitement and shock when it was announced hours before the broadcast that Vice President Kamala Harris would be making a cameo appearance.

It comes two months after Roan was criticized for refusing to support Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

In late September, Chappell doubled down on her previous comments about the election after facing backlash for not formally endorsing a candidate.

The singer took to TikTok to clarify her stance, reiterating that while she planned to vote for Kamala, she wasn't giving a formal endorsement because “there are big issues on both sides.”
