Pharrell Williams reveals skincare secrets that keep him looking young at 51

Pharrell Williams reveals the secrets behind his youthful glow.

The 51-year-old “Happy” singer shared his two-part solution to ageless skin in an interview with People published Saturday.

“There, there Is a routine, and you can find it online, but I think the most active part of it all – no, there are two. It’s exfoliating, but it’s also in here,” Williams told the outlet, pointing to his heart.

“It’s literally in here. “Never silence that inner child,” continued the Louis Vuitton creative director.

“Never say, 'Oh, I can't do this anymore.' No. That's why you should definitely do it now. The people who want to put you in a box? They tried to do the same to me and here we are.”

Williams gave a similar answer when speaking to Dazed in August 2017, revealing that his wrinkle-free complexion was due to the peel.

“I exfoliate like a crazy person. If you exfoliate and drink a lot of water, it’s good,” he said at the time. “For me the key is just to exfoliate like a monster. There is a lot of dead skin. All the time. Like a narcissistic madman.”

However, some – including R&B singer Frank Ocean – couldn't believe that Williams relied solely on an exfoliating technique.

In his 2019 GQ cover story, Ocean criticized the music producer for not sharing more detailed skin care advice.

“It's been all these years and Pharrell still hasn't given us the keys. He just says “peeling,” but it’s not just “peeling”: We need more keys,” he said.

The following year, Williams launched the Humanrace skincare line, which he developed with his longtime dermatologist Elena Jones.

The line includes everything from the Humidifying Face Cream ($52) to the Lotus Enzyme Exfoliator ($46). The products contain ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and snow mushroom extract.

Williams was recently named co-chair of the 2025 Met Gala alongside Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. LeBron James will serve as honorary chairman.

The theme of next year's event will be “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” Vogue announced Wednesday.
