BOSTON – Check your old Powerball tickets: Massachusetts lottery officials say two big winners sold in the state last year have not been claimed and will become worthless in a matter of days.

Two Powerball winning tickets in Massachusetts still unclaimed

A winning ticket valued at $100,000 was purchased at a Shell gas station on Plantation Street in Worcester for a drawing on October 2, 2023. The winning numbers for this game were 12-26-27-43-47 with a Powerball of 5.

The other, valued at $50,000, was purchased at Lincoln Liquors on Summer Street in Chelmsford for the October 7, 2023 drawing. The winning numbers were 47-54-57-60-65 with a Powerball of 19.

Both tickets were purchased for drawings with a jackpot of over one billion dollars. A lucky player in California finally won the 1.765 billion dollar jackpot on October 11, 2023.

When do Powerball tickets expire?

Powerball winning tickets expire one year after the drawing date. Unclaimed winnings are returned to Massachusetts cities and towns.

Lottery winnings valued at up to $103,000 can be claimed at payout centers in Braintree, Dorchester, Lawrence, New Bedford, West Springfield and Worcester.
