Game notes

  • The Boston Bruins return home tonight for their final game against the Seattle Kraken. They will meet again on December 12th.
  • The Bruins did very well yesterday with their 3-0 shutout win over the Philadelphia Flyers after a series of poorly executed plays. We'll see if the energy sparks tonight.
  • This will be the fourth of five away games for the Kraken on their trip to the East Coast. So far the team is 1-2-0. Tonight is also Seattle's second game in a row. While the Bruins beat the Flyers by three goals yesterday, the Kraken lost 3-0 to the Ottawa Senators.
  • The Kraken are 1-3-1 in their last five games.
  • In a direct comparison, the Kraken have the better PK with an effectiveness of 82.9%. It's not good for the Bruins, who still struggle on the power play, ranking 24th in the league at just 14.3%.
  • David Pastrnak and Matty Beniers have each scored six points in the last five games for their respective teams.
  • Jim Montgomery changed the cast again yesterday. They worked and perhaps they will remain the same today so that the chemistry can build.
  • While Joonas Korpisalo earned his first shutout as a Bruin, it would be shocking if Jeremy Swayman wasn't in net on the back-to-back. Swayman was ruled out of Thursday's game. It's hard to place all the blame on Swayman for his subpar GAA average, as the Bruins' defense has to clean up in the Bruins' zone.
  • The B's are still looking for forwards to come back to life. Charlie Coyle and Pavel Zacha don't seem to exist on the ice. Coyle has one point this season while Zacha has just one point in the last nine games. They just look invisible during the game, almost like an afterthought.
  • The Bruins will also celebrate Jack Edwards with a special pregame presentation tonight.
  • See you tonight!
