Rain and storms continue Friday morning on the way to work in Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) — Rain and occasional storms will rage through the area Friday morning.

As you prepare for the day, rain gear is needed. Drivers should pay attention to congestion on the roadway, especially in places with poor drainage.

A weather advisory is in effect for the Chicago area until 7 a.m. due to intermittent heavy rainfall. The sky begins to clear in the morning, so we will have plenty of sunshine from late morning.

Highs Friday afternoon will be around 63 degrees. Temperatures will fall into the low 40s overnight, although some suburbs could see temperatures dip into the upper 30s.

Looking ahead to the weekend, cool, clear fall air returns with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Plenty of sunshine is expected this weekend and will even last into early next week as high pressure moves in.
