Registration for the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, Chicago 13.1 and Shamrock Shuffle begins this month

CHICAGO, IL – Today, the teams behind Chicago's premier racing portfolio announced entry details for the events that make up the third annual Bank of America Chicago Distance Series. The Distance Series combines the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, Chicago 13.1 and Shamrock Shuffle 8K Run in a unique challenge that rewards participants who complete all three events in 2025 with an exclusive medal and guaranteed entry into the 2026 Chicago Marathon. Those interested in participating are asked to RSVP early to ensure they can take part in the series. Registration for Chicago 13.1 and Shamrock Shuffle opens today at special prices. The four-week application period for the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon begins Tuesday, October 22nd.

The Bank of America Chicago Marathon, a member of the Abbott World Marathon Majors and an internationally recognized event, is now accepting applications for its 47th marathonTh The event will take place on Tuesday, October 22nd at 10 a.m. (US Central Time). Registration will occur through a drawing of non-guaranteed participants and a series of guaranteed entry applications.

Interested individuals have until Thursday, November 21 at 2 p.m. (US Central Time) to apply for either guaranteed or non-guaranteed entry. The entry fee is $245 for United States residents and $255 for non-U.S. residents.

Guaranteed entry

Individuals can qualify to participate in the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon through several guaranteed entry options:

  • Time qualifiers who have met the event's age-based qualifying standards or qualify for the event's High Performance Division.
  • Older finishers who have completed the Chicago Marathon five or more times in the last 10 years.
  • Registered participants who have canceled their registration for 2024.
  • Charity participants raising funds for an official charity through the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Charity Program.
  • International runners (non-U.S.) participating in the International Tour Group Program.
  • Runners who completed the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Distance Series by completing the 2024 Shamrock Shuffle 8K Run, Chicago 13.1 and Chicago Marathon.

Participation drawing not guaranteed

Those who do not qualify for guaranteed entry may apply for the non-guaranteed entry drawing. The event will select names from the entire pool of non-guaranteed admission applicants and inform applicants of their selection status on Thursday, December 12th.

The Bank of America Chicago 13.1 offers a unique experience and encourages runners to explore Chicago's West Side neighborhoods. The 4Th The annual half marathon begins Sunday, June 1, 2025, with a route that winds through the historic parks and boulevards of the West Side, beginning and ending in Garfield Park. Following the race, participants and community members are encouraged to celebrate at the Race Day Festival, which features a mix of entertainment, health and wellness activities, and community activations.

Registration for the 2025 event is now open. Individuals who register by Tuesday, October 22, 2024 will have access to a special entry fee of $102 in celebration of the Bank of America Chicago Distance Series. The entry fee will increase to $112 on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. (US Central Time).

The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle is considered the official opener of the current season and a continuation of the city's St. Patrick's Day celebrations. On Sunday, March 23, 2025, the race offers participants a unique 8 km (4.97 miles) run through the Chicago Loop. Fitness enthusiasts not ready to tackle the 8K are encouraged to take part in The Mile event on Saturday, March 22 or the 2-Mile Walk on Sunday. All three events begin and end in Grant Park in Chicago.

Registration for the events in 2025 is now possible. Individuals who register for the 8K run by Tuesday, October 22, 2024 will have access to a special entry fee of $46 in celebration of the Bank of America Chicago Distance Series. The entry fee will increase to $51 on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. (US Central Time).

Registration for the 2-Mile Walk is $41. The entry fee for The Mile event is $25 and $15 for youth ages 8-12.

The fourth annual Bank of America Chicago 13.1 offers runners a unique experience, bringing a world-class half marathon to Chicago's West Side neighborhoods. The 13.1-mile course winds through the historic parks and boulevards of the West Side, beginning and ending in Garfield Park with scenic loops through Humboldt and Douglass Parks. There will be a two-day package pickup on Friday, May 30th and Saturday, May 31st. The weekend festivities culminate with the Half Marathon and Race Day Festival on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
