Reimet and Coster take home weekly CAA awards

RICHMOND, Va. – After leading the Hawks to a 2-0 mark during the week, she was a women's soccer forward for Monmouth University Summer rhymes and goalkeeper Cassie Coster were honored as the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) announced its weekly awards.

Reimet was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week, while Coster took home CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors. Both players were honored for the first time this season. It is the sixth and seventh time a Hawk has been named CAA Player of the Week this season.

Reimet had a seven-point week that helped the Hawks reach their 2-0 mark last week. Reimet scored a combined three goals, including two game-winning goals, and an assist in both games.

Reimet started the week with a two-goal performance in the Hawks' 3-0 win over William & Mary. Their two goals in the second half gave the Hawks a lead they wouldn't relinquish in their first CAA win of the year. It was Reimet's second brace this season.

On Sunday, Reimet was responsible for both Monmouth goals in a 2-1 win at Northeastern. Her assist on the first goal of the game gave Monmouth the early advantage. She then scored her team and CAA's eighth goal of the season, giving Monmouth a 2-1 lead in the win.

Reimet's eight goals this season are a single-season career record for the youngster. She has a career-best 19 points this season.

Coster played a key role in the Hawks' 2-0 finish last week, posting a 0.50 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in 180 minutes of action last week.

Coster started her week with five saves in a 3-0 win over William & Mary. With the win, she picked up her fifth shutout of the season and the 25th of her Monmouth career.

On Sunday in a 2-1 win at Northeastern, Coster made a season-best nine saves, including five in the second half, to secure the victory.

Coster, who several times strayed far from her lines to disrupt play before the shot could be taken, now has six wins this season and 30 in her career.

Reimet, Coster and the rest of the Hawks will be back in action on Thursday, Oct. 3, when they travel to Stony Brook for a 6 p.m. game.
