A GOP candidate in a New Hampshire congressional race called her Democratic rival an out-of-touch multimillionaire after her opponent claimed she only cared about the rich.

Republican Lily Tang Williams – also a millionaire – argued her opponent Maggie Goodlander doesn't understand the “suffering of ordinary people” as she pointed out that the Democrat is worth at least $20 million during a heated debate Thursday night.

“You are rich. They are worth $20 to $30 million. How do you know that ordinary people are suffering?” Tang Williams argued.

“Are you going shopping? Go to Walmart? Buy food? I talk to these people. And you pretend to be a renter in Nashua a few months ago and come back to run for that vacant seat with millions of dollars from Washington, DC, Insider. …I don't have money to run a TV commercial and you act like you're poor and complain that the rent is so high. They don’t understand the concerns of ordinary people.”

Goodlander, a former Biden Justice Department official, has previously criticized rent in her state as “damn high” — while holding dozens of multimillion-dollar properties, including a golf course in Florida and a casino in the Granite State.

The Democrat, who is also married to national security adviser Jake Sullivan, campaigned on the sentiment that housing was a top priority for her future voters.
