Rocky Mountain Power plans power outage in Saratoga Springs

SARATOGA SPRINGS Rocky Mountain Power has planned a power outage Wednesday to conduct system upgrades on transmission lines. The power outage will have an impact on cities Eagle Mountain, Cedar Fort, Fairfield and Saratoga Springs.

The energy supplier warns residents that a power outage is planned near the intersection of Mountain View Corridor and Pioneer Crossing, Starts at 11:00 p.m. and ends at 3:00 a.m

This power outage could affect homes in the Aspen Hills, Harvest Hills, Wild Flower, Sunrise Meadows, Talus Ridge, Mount Saratoga and Quail Hill neighborhoods.

Rocky Mountain Power said the outage is essential to modernizing transmission lines to improve quality of service and support recent improvements to public road infrastructure. This outage will increase the height of transmission lines, reduce the risk of contact with high-profile vehicles, minimize future service interruptions and improve overall reliability.

Rocky Mountain Power insists that customers should prepare for the outage by:

  • Turn off electric stoves, heaters and air conditioners.
  • A light remains on to indicate when power is restored.
  • Have flashlights handy and check on elderly or sick neighbors.
  • We will ensure your heating or cooling needs are safely met during this time.
  • For generator users, connection via an approved transfer switch is required for safety reasons.
