Russia's Lavrov warns Europe of a “suicidal escapade” in a fiery speech.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned European countries against confrontation with Moscow, saying it would be a “suicidal escapade” as Moscow's war with Ukraine continues.

In place of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who, as in previous years, did not attend the UN showpiece event, Lavrov also warned against “drawing Ukraine into NATO.”

“(The West) hopes to defeat Russia with the help of the illegitimate neo-Nazi regime of Kiev, but it is already preparing Europe to plunge into this suicidal escapade as well,” Lavrov said at the annual UN General Assembly.

“I will not talk here about the futility and danger of the very idea of trying to fight for victory with a nuclear power.”

Lavrov said that “serious violations” of the rights of Russians and those who “feel part of Russian culture… entail threats to the security of Russia and all of Europe emanating from the Kiev regime and those who are it.” “draw it into NATO.

Lavrov made the comments after it emerged that nine people were killed in Russian attacks on a hospital in the Ukrainian border town of Sumy, according to Ukrainian authorities.

“Russia attacked one of the city’s hospitals with Shahed drones,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram, and regional authorities said the toll rose to nine dead and 12 injured.

The attack comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is pushing Kiev's Western allies to allow the use of long-range precision weapons to carry out attacks deep inside Russia.
