Scalpers are now selling the PS5 Pro for thousands after the console sold out in minutes

After the PS5 Pro – 30th Anniversary Edition sold out almost immediately, scalpers are now selling the console bundle for thousands online.

Last week, Sony announced a limited edition of PS5 consoles and accessories to celebrate PlayStation's 30th anniversary.

Pre-orders for the bundles, which included 12,300 units of the PS5 Pro limited edition, went live today in the UK and other regions and quickly sold out in minutes, and to the surprise of no one, scalpers are already trying to capitalize on the hype.

On the PlayStation Direct UK Store, the 2TB PS5 Pro – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle costs £959.99, but scalpers are trying to take advantage of those who missed out by selling the console for around ten times the retail price.

As IGN discovered, new listings on eBay show scalpers are trying to sell the limited edition pack for up to £10,000, while others are generously selling them for between £4,000 and £5,000.

Scalpers with deals don't currently have their hands on the console, as the 30th Anniversary Edition console won't ship until November 21, 2024. So in theory they're just selling proof that they bought one.

There are also counter offers on eBay warning buyers not to buy a console from scalpers as the price is ridiculous.

With only a limited stock of the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition on offer, you can't currently purchase one from the PlayStation Direct UK website as stock appears to have already completely sold out.
