Seth Meyers slams Republicans for 'whining' about Kamala Harris on 'SNL'

The comedian went on a quick tirade about the backlash against the vice president's semi-controversy SNL Appearance during the “Closer Look” segment of Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday.

“An exhausted and seemingly discouraged Donald Trump ends his election campaign with rambling speeches to ever-shrinking crowds, threatens violence, makes baseless allegations of fraud, raises the possibility of a vaccination ban and complains about it Saturday Night Live” the host began, joking that the former president was upset about Meyers' departure SNL a decade ago. “Is it because he misses me on '(Weekend) Update'?” Well, if that’s not the case, then f— him!”

Harris appeared briefly on Saturday's episode of SNL in the cold open sketch where Maya Rudolph's version of Harris looked into a mirror to exaggerate herself before election night and saw the real vice president on the other side.

The Democratic candidate's 90-second appearance on the show sparked criticism from conservatives, including Trump-appointed FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr, who claimed the cameo was “a clear and obvious attempt to undermine the equal-time rule of the United States.” FCC” – the rule that ensures that “No legally qualified candidate for office will be unfairly granted less access to the airwaves – except for bona fide news exceptions – than his opponent.”

Later in the section, Meyers reiterated: “This is how they choose to end their campaign: debunking allegations of fraud, whining about comedy shows, pushing plans for a vaccine ban and threatening retaliation against enemies, banning elections and punishing their speech .” I do not like it.”
