Several school districts canceled or moved to virtual schools due to severe weather

Due to severe storms, several schools were canceled or moved to virtual school operations on Monday morning.

Oklahoma State University: Classes canceled

“Due to the threat of inclement weather, campus offices will remain closed and classes will be canceled for Stillwater on Monday, November 4.”

Oklahoma City Public Schools: After-school athletics canceled

OKCPS Families, all afternoon athletics events have been canceled for November 4th due to predicted severe weather. Please stay safe and weather aware.

Edmond Public Schools: Canceled

“All EPS schools will remain closed on Monday, November 4th and activities will be cancelled. This is due to the ongoing threat of severe weather conditions lasting throughout the day.”

Deer Creek Public Schools: Canceled

“Due to the current and forecast weather conditions for today, the Deer Creek School District will be closed for an inclement weather day on Monday, November 4, 2024. No courses are given. Evening events are expected to continue as planned, but we will communicate changes as necessary. Please stay healthy!”

Moore Public Schools: Canceled

Union City Public Schools announced students will be will not be punished if they do not attend class on Monday due to poor weather conditions.

“Safety is our top priority at UCPS. If you are uncomfortable with today's weather forecast and want to keep your children at home, we understand and they will not be penalized. Given the changeable weather, we plan to carry on as usual and provide a safe place for those who might otherwise be home alone. If anything changes to prevent this, we will let you know as soon as possible.

Public schools in Piedmont: Canceled

“Schools in Piedmont are CANCELED today. If your student was picked up by bus, the buses will go to a safe location and your student will contact you from there.”

Putnam City Schools: Canceled

“Due to the current situation with the severe weather moving into our area, all Putnam City schools are closed today. Please be aware of the weather as the storms move through. Stay safe!”
