Sharks at Utah Hockey Club (Game 10): Lines, game thread and how to watch

The San Jose Sharks made NHL history and are famously the first team in NHL history to suffer nine straight losses in two consecutive seasons. While the Sharks can't do anything about it, the team can avoid cementing itself further in the record books tonight by defeating the Utah Hockey Club.

Utah had a bad start to the season. The team started with three wins right from the start. Since then, however, Utah has come back down to earth and has won just one in its last six games. The Utah Hockey Club has suffered three straight losses and is trying to turn things around.

Clayton Keller leads Utah with 9 points in 9 games. He and Dylan Guenther have each scored five goals this season. Utah welcomed Nick Bjugstad back into the lineup Saturday night against the Los Angeles Kings. Bjugstad missed the first eight games of the season due to injury.

Connor Ingram and Karel Vejmelka split time in net for Utah. Ingram is the starter in every sense and has a 4-2-1 record with an .862 save percentage and 3.71 goals-against average. Vejmelka has better numbers, but no track record. He is 0-2-0 in three starts, has a 3.04 goals against average and an .889 save percentage.

In other words, this is a winnable game for the Sharks.

San Jose Sharks lines against Utah Hockey Club

Now it's Mackenzie Blackwood's turn to start in net, and considering how tough Saturday's game was for Vitek Vanecek, that's honestly a good choice. Will Smith will miss today's game again due to a “development day”. The Sharks are back home tomorrow night to play the Los Angeles Kings, so the night off makes sense.
