LARAMIE – Did you sleep a little better last night?

The Mountain West is here to stay. Sure, it looks different, but it's home and should be until at least 2032. Seven programs — Wyoming, UNLV, Air Force, San Jose State, New Mexico, Nevada and Hawaii — all said “I promise” on Thursday.

The Rebels and Hawks got a little extra incentive to stay. These two had options. Money speaks.

Welcome back, boys.

The league is now shifting its focus to adding at least two full-time members. Will that be Texas State? UTEP? State of New Mexico? Reports late Thursday said the conference is flirting with Northern Illinois and Toledo from the MAC. Those would be pure football invitations, per Brett McMurphy from actionnetwork.com.

Does anyone in particular have a lot in mind against five teams? Damn, make it seven.

Can UNLV, a program on the verge of cracking the top 25, surpass visiting Fresno State with its backup quarterback?

Mighty San Diego State is an underdog in mighty central Michigan. A must-see tilt on TV – Wazzu on The Blue – now has me Googling: “Is there a way neither team can win?”

I’m also a big fan of “Bye” this Saturday. It plays against Colorado State, Utah State and Oregon State.

Insignificant? You can bet on it. That's what makes rivalries fun, right?

The 50 Greatest University of Wyoming Football Players

The rules are simple: What impact did the player have in Laramie? This means that NFL stats, draft status or other accolades earned outside of UW do not play a role in this list.

This is not a one-man job. This task required a panel of experts. Cody Tucker joins 7220 Robert Gagliardi, Jared Newland, Ryan Thorburn, And Kevin McKinney.

We all put together our own 50 list and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS – only let's hope this catalog is fairer.
