SNL spoofs Rep. Harvey Epstein's name in fake campaign ad

Saturday Night Live broadcast a New York State Assemblyman named Harvey Epstein from Manhattan – and joked about merging the names of notorious perverts Jeffery Epstein and Harvey Weinstein.

Host and SNL writer alum John Mulaney portrayed Harvey Epstein in a simulated City Council political ad for the District 74 lawmaker.

Mulaney even accessorized with earrings that the congressman was known to wear.

“Listen, my name is ideal, of course not,” the fake Epstein says into the camera. “Do you think I don’t know that?”

“But luckily I’m a different guy.”

In the mock complaint, Mulaney's Epstein repeatedly emphasizes that he is in no way related to the two men who are each accused of depraved sex crimes.

This clarification is repeatedly missed by a large number of citizens who provide testimonials for the candidate in the advertisement.

The fake Harvey Epstein even puts out posters with mugshots of Harvey Weinstein and Jeffery Epstein that say “NOT ME” and “DIFFERENT GUY,” respectively.

“He has my vote, everyone deserves a second chance,” a woman says in a fake testimonial.

“I still have my first chance,” shouts Mulaney’s Epstein.

“Even Hillary couldn’t kill this guy,” a hot dog vendor says in a testimonial. “Good for him. He’s a survivor.”

“I’m a different guy again,” Epstein pleads as graffiti is washed from his campaign office.

In another remark, the narrator says, “Epstein is on the lookout for miners.”

“Miners. “That’s an important difference please,” an angry Epstein clarifies.

Another report said he would be good for the city financially, but should not be allowed near the schools.

Pseudo-Harvey Epstein insists he “loves your children, not in a scary way.”

“I give you my word, as Epstein.”

“Harvey Epstein for City Council. Because together we can make this city Epstein’s island,” the political ad concludes.

Rep. Epstein was elected to his District 74 seat in 2018. He previously served on Community Board 3 for 14 years.

Harvey Epstein is actually running for City Council in District 2. He could not immediately be reached for comment.
