Sources: Seahawks trade for Jaguars DT Roy Robertson-Harris

The Seattle Seahawks are acquiring defensive tackle Roy Robertson-Harris in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday.

Seattle is giving up a 2026 sixth-round pick in this trade, a source told ESPN.

The 31-year-old Robertson-Harris gives the Seahawks reinforcements for a defense that has been shorthanded and has had major problems against the run over the past three weeks.

Robertson-Harris (6-foot-5, 290), who went undrafted out of UTEP in 2016, spent his first five seasons with the Chicago Bears and has been with Jacksonville since 2021. In 106 career games, he has 19 sacks and 26 tackles for a loss. including two sacks and three TFLs in six games this season.

The Seahawks have allowed the third-most rushing yards in the NFL during their three-game losing streak that followed a 3-0 start.

They have played without several key players during that time, including rookie defensive tackle Byron Murphy II. Seattle's first-round pick has a chance to return from his hamstring injury this week, but the Seahawks currently have fullback Uchenna Nwosu – their top player – up placed on injured reserve, and he may not be back until the end of the season.

The Jaguars signed Robertson-Harris in February 2023 to a three-year extension worth $21.6 million with $14.4 million guaranteed, keeping him under contract through the 2026 season. There was still one year left on his contract, which he signed with the Jaguars in March 2021.

In his three-plus seasons with the Jaguars, he has 11.5 sacks, 123 tackles and 7 pass breakups. He has been involved at tackle and end in 50% of the team's defensive snaps this season, but his production has declined compared to the last two seasons. He played in every game but only had seven tackles and four quarterback hits.

This is the second trade between Seattle and Jacksonville in the last month and a half. The Seahawks acquired outside linebacker Trevis Gipson from the Jaguars in late August for a 2025 sixth-round pick.

ESPN's Michael DiRocco contributed to this report.
