Welcome to New Orleans!

On Wednesday, the Caesars Superdome was outfitted with a 140-foot-long friendship bracelet in honor of Taylor Swift's sold-out Eras Tour stop in Louisiana, which begins Friday.

Workers were seen using forklifts to hang the inflatable banners, which looked like a mix of letter beads and colorful pony beads.

The double-stranded wristbands hanging from the stadium's facade read “Taylor Swift The Eras Tour.”

The massive bracelets paid homage to the Swiftie tradition of passing down homemade, beaded friendship bracelets – which stems from a lyric in Swift's song “You're On Your Own Kid.”

Abby Jones, sales and marketing manager, came up with the idea just a month before 34-year-old Swift arrived in the Big Easy.

After receiving approval from the pop star's team, Jones contacted Miami-based artist Shawn Kolodny, known for his large-scale inflatable designs.

According to Nola.com, each “bead” is made of nylon and stands approximately two meters tall.

“It’s like a giant bouncy castle with a friendship bracelet,” Kolodny told the outlet.

Shortly after the banners went up, the New Orleans Saints — who play in the Superdome — shared videos of the episode on Instagram.

“A welcome to Taylor 🫶,” they wrote.

Swift's record-breaking tour began in March 2023, a few months after the release of her album Midnights.

On the record's fifth track – usually the singer's most personal song – she sings: “All you lose is a step you take / So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and try it.”

Her fans took the lyrics literally and began making and trading friendship bracelets with their favorite songs, albums and lyrics, resulting in an up to 500% increase in sales at craft stores.

The fan project quickly developed a life of its own and became synonymous with the “Fortnight” singer’s tour.

Swift herself even joined in on the fun, often wearing elevated versions of her fans' homemade bracelets.

In fact, her boyfriend Travis Kelce gifted the Grammy winner a gold friendship bracelet with “TNT” written on it for the holidays last year – a nod to her initials.

The sparkling Momento was encrusted with more than 4 carats of diamonds and sold for over $6,000.

Kelce also purchased his own matching version of the bracelet, which the jeweler said felt like a “full circle thing” since the NFL star famously tried to woo Swift with a friendship bracelet before they met.

In July 2023, Kelce admitted that he tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it before one of her shows in Kansas City.

Although he never got the chance to give her the bracelet, she later found out about his plans and decided to give him another chance.
