The CEO of a software company tragically died after falling 200 feet while climbing in Zion National Park in Utah.

Justin Bingham, 40, rappelled with three other people near the trailhead of the popular Heaps Canyon Trail around 6 p.m. on October 5 and fell between 150 and 200 feet, the National Parks Service (NPS) said.

Over 50 rescuers from the Zion National Park Technical Search and Rescue Team, the Washington County Sheriff's Office and more worked to save the beloved father of four.

Bingham was rescued from the steep canyon by a Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter and transported to a helipad near Watchman Campground, where he was pronounced dead before being transported to a hospital by rescue helicopter.

“Justin was involved in a tragic accident while pursuing one of his greatest passions – exploring the outdoors,” said his technology company Opiniion.
